NORD Helical Inline

This partnership of two proven products combines the cast iron NORD gearbox with a cast iron SGA motor, providing a rugged and reliably finished product suitable for extra heavy duty applications. After assembly of the two components all NORDBLOC-SGA geared motors are test run and painted with a final coat of high quality green enamel.

The NORD gearboxes are of unicase construction. All bearing bores are integral with the gearcase itself, eliminating multi-part housings. The unicase is machined at one setting to such close tolerances that misalignments are impossible. This design produces a housing construction of great strength and rigidity. Larger overhung loads can be transmitted since the bearings are supported by the unicase and not by cover-plates. The gears are made from forgings. The teeth are shaved, hardened and then precision ground. Gears are rated according to DIN 3990 and Niemann. The NORD unicase design concept allows the best possible selection of bearings, assuring maximum life. Bearings and gears operate in an oil bath. The tolerances between shaft and bores as well as keys and keyways are selected to assure proper fit.	The CMG enhanced performance SGA range of motors are recognized for their inherent suitability for all geared motor applications. Standard motors are 3 phase, 415 volt, 50 Hz. Motors are manufactured with 'F' class insulation, with windings designed to limit the temperature rise to 80K. The SGA motor has an all cast iron construction, and provides a protection rating of IP55 for both motor and terminal box. Motors are our SGAG2 series which have the same performance and dimensions as SGA B14 flange mount motors but are provided with a reduced output shaft to suit the first stage pinion. Also available is the CMG-SGA range of enhanced protection (Exe, Exn, DIP), brake and multi speed motors.
